Micro-Winery

at Coes Farm

In our micro-winery we make Organic natural wines and ciders under the guidance of our winemakers, Daniel and Nicola Ham at Offbeat.

On the East block in our vineyard we planted Chardonnay, Pinot Noir & Pinot Meunier which Daniel uses to make our Traditional Method wine. And on the West Block we planted Pinot Gris and Sauvignac for our still wines.

In 2021 we made a completely natural Pinot Blanc using fruit from Crouch Valley in Essex. Hand-destemmed, left on skins for 24-hours, pressed by basket press and put in tank with no additions. Working with Gnina Balchin at In The Loop we have now made a semi-sweet English Vermouth with this wine.

When we purchased the site there was an existing orchard of around 60 trees including Discovery, Russet and Bramley apples. In 2022 we planted an additional 200 cider varieties; Dabinett, Gilly, Three Counties and Harry Masters Jersey.

We will be releasing our first wine and cider in 2024.
